KönigZero is a zero-silica engineered stone surface designed to offer a practical and refined solution for bathroom interiors. Combining durability with a non-porous surface, it is resistant to moisture, staining and the build-up of mould and bacteria, making it suited to spaces where hygiene and easy maintenance are key considerations.

Konigzero-Dakota-Vanity-Sink

The surface is also designed to withstand the demands of everyday bathroom use, including humidity and changes in temperature, without warping or degrading over time. Its consistent finish allows for a coordinated look across vanity tops, splashbacks and other bathroom features, creating a clean, cohesive aesthetic that works equally well in everyday and more luxurious interiors.

Ceramic surfaces offer another versatile option for bathroom design. Like engineered stone, ceramic is non-porous, making it resistant to water and easy to maintain in moisture-rich environments. Its slimmer profile also opens up further design possibilities, particularly for full-height wall cladding, where its relatively lightweight construction allows for large-format installations with minimal visual interruption.

Ceramic can also be used to clad furniture, including vanity units and bespoke cabinetry, helping to create a consistent finish across the bathroom. The result is a clean, contemporary aesthetic that combines practical performance with a considered approach to surface specification.

After its inaugural year exhibiting at the HIX show in 2025, bathroom brand Kinedo is taking a space again in 2026 at the exhibition’s new home at ExceL in London.

With a range of products suited to the hotel sector, the company will be displaying a selection of walk-in showers, cuttable shower trays and Kinewall statement wall panels, including the new Signature range.

For designers and hoteliers who are looking for a bathroom with a difference, the new Kinedo Signature collection is a set of bold patterns that truly create a standout space. Imagine a Highland Cow in a Highland Hotel, a Peacock in a Manor House Hotel or a Lion in, well, any room that merits a bit of fun and adventure. These animal-inspired panels join the funky giraffe that debuted at HIX last year and extend a range of other show-stopping designs.

Kinedo’s parent company is SFA Saniflo and the stand team will also be able to discuss how Saniflo’s world-renowned pumps and macerators can work in conjunction with Kinedo products for installations in awkward spaces. Designed to facilitate the discharge of water waste from bathrooms where there is no existing pipe infrastructure or no gravity drainage, such as lofts and basements, Saniflo products are able to convert redundant space into revenue generating rooms.

The team is looking forward to welcoming customers old and new onto stand J65.

CRL Stone‘s new Statuario Extreme has joined its Ceralsio ceramic surface collection. Inspired by Statuario marble, the latest collection features bold, natural-looking veining that combines the aesthetics of natural stone with the performance characteristics of ceramic.

Statuario Extreme is non-porous and resistant to staining, it also withstands scratches, heat, UV exposure and everyday wear, making it suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.

The new surface features a crisp white background with contrasting grey veining, creating a sense of movement across its surface. It is suited to statement applications, including bathroom vanities, kitchen islands, splashbacks, and feature walls. A bookmatched option ensures continuation of the veining across adjoining slabs for maximum impact.

Applications also extend across bathroom and kitchen countertops, flooring, media walls, wall cladding, facades and outdoor kitchens. The surface remains colourfast even in areas exposed to direct sunlight and fluctuating temperatures.

This latest finish is available in 12 mm and 20 mm thicknesses and responds to a growing demand for design-led, durable, slim, large-format ceramic surfaces.

Dulux has selected Soulful Sage™, a soft, silvery green, as its Colour of the Year for 2027. The new shade is being positioned as a versatile option for architects, specifiers and designers when creating a coordinated framework for developing schemes across sectors.

The colour has been developed as part of AkzoNobel’s annual ColourFutures™ research, which examines emerging social and design trends and translates them into colour directions for professional use.

According to Dulux, the 2027 research points towards a move to lighter and more considered environments, reflecting growing concerns around information overload and wider global uncertainty.

Soulful Sage has subsequently been chosen as a flexible base colour that can be adapted to different levels of warmth, neutrality and visual energy, depending on the requirements of a project.

Three palettes for different design directions

Alongside Soulful Sage, Dulux has introduced three complementary colour palettes designed to give architects, specifiers and designers a starting point for developing coordinated schemes.

Glow Colours combines Soulful Sage with soft clay, terracotta and lilac tones. The warmer palette is aimed particularly at residential and hospitality projects where designers are looking to create a welcoming environment with greater character and warmth.

Light Colours pairs the green with greys, browns and blues to create a more restrained, neutral scheme. Dulux highlights workplaces and healthcare as potential applications where clarity, simplicity and visual order are key considerations.

Lift Colours takes a more expressive approach, combining Soulful Sage with ochres, pale pinks and other greens. The palette is intended for projects requiring a more energetic identity, including education and workplace environments.

Dawn Scott, senior colour designer at Dulux Trade, AkzoNobel, said colour should be considered at an early stage of the design process alongside materials, finishes and the function of a space.

“The challenge is translating emerging trends into a colour direction that is practical, credible and adaptable enough to use on a real project,” she said.

“Soulful Sage and its complementary palettes are designed to provide a starting point and give professionals the flexibility to develop schemes around the brief, the building and the people using the space.”

Available from September

Dulux says the Soulful Sage colour and shades from the three accompanying palettes will be available through Dulux colour mixing retailers from 8 September 2026.

A Peel & Stick Sample of Soulful Sage is also available.

For specifiers, Dulux has produced a Trade Colour of the Year 2027 Specifier Guide, while its Paint Specification Creator can be used to develop project specifications. The company also offers support through its Commercial Colour Services team.

CRL Stone has added a Soft Black finish to its Ceralsio ceramic surface collection, bringing a deep, uniform tone and natural finish to the collection.

Designed for contemporary kitchen and bathroom schemes, Soft Black can be used across large surface areas to create a seamless look, making it suitable for minimalist interiors and applications where a more streamlined aesthetic is required.

Manufactured ceramic and compacted at a pressure of 4,000 kg/m² before being sintered at over 1200°C, Ceralsio is designed to provide a durable, non-porous material. It is resistant to staining, scratches, heat, UV exposure and general wear, making it suitable for applications including kitchen and bathroom countertops, wall cladding, flooring, media walls, outdoor kitchens and facades.

The surface is designed to maintain its colour and texture when exposed to sunlight or extreme temperatures. Full Digital printing technology is used to create the individual surface finishes, with each slab featuring a unique pattern.

Available in 12 mm and 20 mm thickness options, Ceralsio is suitable for projects requiring thinner profile surfaces without compromising on durability.

Soft Black is available as part of the Ceralsio collection for both residential and commercial applications.

REHAU has expanded the design possibilities of its RAUVISIO crystal range with the launch of the refreshed Strong Collection, introducing six new polymer glass decors inspired by natural materials.

Developed for contemporary bathroom and kitchen interiors, the updated collection has been designed to help specifiers create calm, cohesive spaces while making it easier to coordinate finishes across furniture, splashbacks and wall surfaces.

The range comprises six décors, each offered in both high-gloss and matt finishes. Vela, Torino and Onice draw on the look of natural stone, while Creta, Nube and Cortena take inspiration from other natural materials. Positioned beneath the RAUVISIO crystal polymer glass surface, the décors create subtle transitions, visual depth and a distinctive three-dimensional effect as light penetrates the material, adding texture without overpowering a scheme.

Suited for furniture fonts, wall cladding and other interior applications, the collection is available as a 2,800 × 1,300 × 19 mm with an MDF backed panel, or as a 3.7 mm glass laminate version for projects that require greater installation flexibility. The slimline panel can be fitted directly over existing tiles, making it particularly suited for refurbishment projects where installation speed and minimal disruption are key considerations.

Alongside its design potential, the polymer glass surface collection offers several practical advantages over conventional mineral glass. It is significantly lighter, more resistant to scratches and impacts and can be fabricated using standard woodworking tools. The easy-clean surface also incorporates anti-fingerprint properties, while the muted décors have been selected to work across a wide range of interior styles.

Jonathan Heginbottom, national sales manager at REHAU Interior Solutions UK, said: “The collection was redeveloped to capture the essence of natural materials in a calm, contemporary design language. The focus was on creating visual harmony through timeless aesthetics and a carefully considered palette that can be used across a variety of interior applications.”

To support the specification process, REHAU also offers Surface Select, an online platform that enables designers to browse its decorative surface collections and order samples for client presentations and project development.

RAK Ceramics introduces I Sassi Matera, a surface inspired by the architectural landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage site of ancient Paleolithic cave dwellings.

This unique cultural reference brings together history, materiality and design, drawing inspiration from the natural formation of Matera itself, where soft calcarenite stone, shaped over time by water and wind erosion, defines the texture and character of the landscape. This geological identity becomes the foundation for a refined ceramic interpretation that captures depth, movement and authenticity in surface form.

Developed as part of the wider I Sassi Collection, alongside I Sassi Borgogna, the Matera design combines the Borgogna background with layered decorative flakes – sharing the same base background to ensure a seamless visual connection and balanced colour relationship between the two designs. This coordinated approach enhances continuity across the collection while allowing each surface to maintain its own distinct identity.

I Sassi Matera is available in dark greige, dark ivory, dark sand and grey, with coordinated decors designed to extend creative flexibility across applications. Offered in 90x180cm, 120x120cm and 60x120cm formats, the collection supports a wide range of design requirements, from large scale architectural installations to more detailed interior compositions.

With its layered material narrative and precise aesthetic harmony, I Sassi Matera reflects RAK Ceramics’ commitment to transforming historical inspiration into contemporary surface design, where heritage and innovation coexist in a refined and enduring expression.

Spanish bathroom specialist Acquabella has reaffirmed its commitment to health, safety and sustainability with a portfolio of premium mineral-based products that are entirely free from crystalline silica. Designed with wellbeing and environmental responsibility in mind, the company’s surfaces combine high-performance materials with independently certified credentials for indoor air quality, hygiene and recycled content.

As awareness continues to grow around the risks associated with crystalline silica and silicosis, a serious occupational lung disease linked to certain engineered stone products, Acquabella is highlighting its proactive approach to safer material specification. The manufacturer’s shower trays and countertops are deliberately formulated without crystalline silica, reflecting a long-term commitment to protecting installers, fabricators, employees and end users throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Instead, Acquabella’s products are manufactured using mineral fillers including calcium carbonate and dolomite, materials that differ fundamentally from crystalline silica-based engineered stone linked to silicosis cases globally. This considered material choice underlines the brand’s focus on creating safer bathroom solutions without compromising on design, durability or performance.

Certified materials designed for healthier living

Alongside being crystalline silica-free, Acquabella’s collections also deliver a range of independently certified environmental and wellbeing benefits. Its shower trays contain up to 74% pre-consumer recycled content, while countertops incorporate up to 57%, both verified by SCS Global Services.

The products also achieve an A+ classification for indoor air quality in accordance with ISO 16000-6, helping to support healthier residential and commercial interiors. In addition, Acquabella’s surfaces are certified antibacterial to ISO 22196:2011, offering enhanced hygiene performance for modern bathroom environments where cleanliness and ease of maintenance remain key priorities.

Further reinforcing its sustainability credentials, the company has registered both Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and FDES certifications for its Akron® shower trays and countertops, independently verified to provide greater transparency around environmental performance.

Sustainability embedded across operations

Acquabella’s environmental commitment extends beyond product development into its wider manufacturing operations. The company states that 100% of the electricity used across its facilities comes from certified renewable energy sources, supporting a more responsible production model aligned with evolving industry expectations.

The manufacturer also holds ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, demonstrating a structured approach to reducing environmental impact and continually improving sustainable performance throughout its operations.

As part of its wider climate strategy, Acquabella has also completed the calculation and registration of its corporate carbon footprint, strengthening its commitment to transparency and lower-impact manufacturing.

With growing demand for safer, more sustainable specification choices across the bathroom sector, Acquabella continues to position itself at the forefront of contemporary bathroom design with products engineered to support both wellbeing and environmental responsibility.
